Shopaholic on the loose!!

Today will be my last day in Gold Coast for I am going back early morning tomorrow. I remembered wrongly and thought i was going back on Thursday midnight and reaching KL on Friday afternoon when actually it's on Thursday wee morning, reaching KL Thursday noon. Everything turned last minute and our plan to Movie World had to be cancel. *shitty* And therefore, I had only 2days to shop before I go back.

All the shops were finally re-opened yesterday and we managed to do a little shopping in Brisbane's duty free factory outlets called DFO. FYI: the shops here closes at 5pm and because we woke up late (as usual), we had to rushed our way there and drive through MCD for lunch in the car. The menu in Australia is slightly different than Malaysia's MCD (y other countries always seem to have nicer menu than us?!) Korea have Pork Burger, HK have Ebi Prawn Burger, and Australia have... Double Beef Bacon Burger!! Sounds yummy huh? And it does taste as good as the name sounds. And because it's sooo good, I had it again for lunch today. Hahaaha!! They also have Frozen Coke or Coke Beku. It's more like 7-11's slurpies and it also reminded me of the Coke Beku my primary school used to sell, how I'll buy it in the canteen everyday after school and how I have to hit it on the wall or the staircase to break the ices inside in the bottle. *Refreshing* Yesterday was not much of a shopping spree since we only went to 1 factory outlet. I didn't manage to sapu alot of things because the shops there are mainly local brands and i ended up buying only some lingeries - an 1hr plus drive to Brisbane and all i bought was just 2 nighties and a few undies. wtf!~ By dinner time, we went to a Taiwanese restaurant and I was SO hungry i gobbled up everything and then only remember "Oh shit! I forgot to take pictures of the food!" Oh.. and also, they have pretty nice bubble tea there too. There aren't much pictures of yesterday's event because when it comes to shopping, I just tend to forget about everything else (even though it's just lingerie shopping). And that's why, I'm combining yesterday's and today's shopping spree details - into one blog. Enjoy!~

Double beef and bacon burger.. only at MCD Australia

Ladies and gentlemen, let me demonstrate to you how delicious it looks and tastes like when i bite it and a mixture of mustard and tomato sauce spilling out the side of the burger. *slurp*

Finally get to snap a picture of my cheesecake's chef + my sis's housemate: Nat

The inside of DFO - i doesn't know what's the full name for it but it's nearby Brisbane Airport

"My 2nd Home" Taiwanese restaurant. They have recorded updated taiwanese programmes and also taiwanese magazines. Boss, staffs, and customers are majority taiwanese too.

Bubble tea.. simply bubblistic!!~

The after picture of my dish... hahaha.. nak jugak take although I've already finished eating it. stewpid me. >.<" A little something to splurge on myself.

This was how we ended the night. Gold Coast could be pretty boring at night. All cafes closes latest by 12am. No yumcha section here and that's the only thing I like about Malaysia = 24hrs mamak.. or OldTown.
And here are what we did and where we went today:
First stop: Harbour Town. Another factory outlet in Gold Coast. Didn't take the picture of the main entrance, so i put my ownself instead... boleh lah...

My new favorite Charles&Keith sunnies~

Curi-curi take picture while my sis's trying out her clothes inside POLO changing room. Kekee!

Can't help it when i see a big mirror in front of me with nice lighting, sowie.

Look!~ I spotted a big woofie!!~

And a small woofie!! They're here to shop too!

Hey, say hie to the woofers out there..

Next stop: Pacific Fair Shopping Mall

Yo yo! Sisters with shades in dha house! (perasan hip hop)

Guess what i'm eating?

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are like J.Co in Malaysia. People queue up like crazy just to get a bite of it. And i still prefer J.CO over this 'coz this original glazed is too sweet for me. I heard they're opening in Times Square soon, you guys can go try it.

I have FINALLY found the MAC Hello Kitty Collection's grey nail polish!! It costed me slightly more expensive than Malaysia but it's worth it because it's completely out of stock all over Malaysia!~

Oh yea~ oh yea~
(doing the chicken little dance)

What i had sapu-ed during this whole trip. If only i got more time... *sigh*

One happy "tourist"
My sis trying to cook me Thai fried rice after she had watched and learnt it from YouTube. Erm.. doesn't sound convincing to me. But what to do, she's my sister and who else but me to be her white mice.

Sabotaged a little.

TADAA!! It's as tasteless as how it looks like, but the taste of sisterhood blended warmly into the rice and melted sweetly into my throat. I'll always eat whatever my sister cook for me, and no matter how bad it taste it'll still taste good to me. I lup you sis!

The whole of Gold Coast night view. Amazing.

Last stop: Broad Beach. Sitting at the beach at night, listen to the crushing sounds of the waves, the bright moon shining at us from above, the stars competing with each other to be the shinest bling, my shadow in front of me - dark - like my future road ahead; there'll be ups and downs - like the tides; but there will be nothing to worry about for the moon and the stars will shine their brightest to show and guide me the way, so i won't be blinded by the darkness and can't find the way out.

IKEA Day

It rained the whole day today.. and it's still raining now. I guessed it's raining season now in Gold Coast, and the shops are closed for 2days; yesterday and today, kinda wrong timing to come over. My mood swings along with the weather - moody. Doesn't feel like having a tra-la-la holiday mood despite what had happened before I came over, I felt more like having a breaktime, a cool off break, or whatever u call it. *Sigh* why can't I just have a happy mood for once everytime I travel?!

We drove for 45minutes to IKEA today to buy some furnitures and miscellaneous for my sister's room. (Am I really here for holiday or what?!) I'm actually here in Australia Gold Coast, IKEA-ing. Not bad not bad. The food, the catalogue, the showrooms and furnitures are exactly how the IKEA is back in KL. Surprised how they actually managed to syncronize everything internationally, the same.

Going back, it was still raining. We stopped by a supermarket to buy ingredients for our dinner. Sis is cooking me steak tonight. I am definately gonna gain a few.. no... i think it's ALOT of big FAT pounds when I'm back. Besides weight gaining, I also gained a little skills and knowledge of how to cook a medium rare steak! tTrust me in cooking a steak when I almost burned down my kitchen trying to cook a sunny side up for my Indo Mee.

We spent the whole day at home because it was still raining and we couldn't go anywhere. Stuck at home with no TV, no nothing; how sad and pathethic.

Us on the way to IKEA..

Cam-whored a little during the 45minutes drive... so sien

Gazing out the window, looking at the raindrops, thinking of what he is doing right now

Inside IKEA for lunch - Swedish meatballs with chips, and a glass of Pepsi to quench our thirst. We queued up for almost half an hour for these meatballs and they gave me chips instead of mashed potatoes.. all thanx to my sis.

Shopping shopping shopping~~ but it's all not for me.. =(

Back home after shopping, my sis marinated the steak with red wine and garlic for the extra umph before cooking it.. can't wait can't wait!

Start cooking edi!! Smelled great!!~

Asparagus for side dish and she is so kedekut to only cook me 1 side dish. Fridays also give 2 lar weh!!~

First, i tried the steak - medium rare nicely done to suit my appetite =)

Then, the asparagus. Hmm... taste just like... asparagus!!

I am now too full to write or comment about anything else.. x.x''

A peaceful state of mind...

The day started with a lil' cam-whoring...

My second day in Gold Coast and yet it'd already feel like a while. It's Happy Easter Holiday today and most of the shops are closed. And so.. I took the opportunity to sleep 'till 3 in the afternoon... hahaha.. what a lazy ass.. Since all the shops were closed, our itinerary for the day is just... going down to the beach.

My sis brought me to a beach call "Spit the beach"... erm.. sorry.. it's "The Spit Beach" (Syok Sendiri) I called it the "Woofies' Beach" because it's the only beach where patrons are allow to bring their dogs along to play and exercise by the beach. The breezy wind and peaceful sight of owners walking their dogs, swimming with their dogs, or playing fetch with their dogs, bring calmness into my yet miserable piece of mind. I managed to take a few snaps of the scenario for you dog lovers out there so you'll understand how I'm feeling at that moment. I wished KL have such a beautiful place that I could be able to bring my babies out to play. Those woofing moments didn't last long because the beautiful weather was soon overcome with dark clouds and drizzles, we quickly left before we have to paktor under the rain.

The path to woofies' beach

Fluffy clouds + surfer waves + clean water = beautiful

Owners playing fetch with their pets...

This family owes 3 dogs.. this one is more of the I'm-taking-care-of-the-family dog..

This is another dog of theirs with a pair of ying-yong colour eyes

The brown one loves playing in the water..

A weird looking jack russel from another owner..

Another playful dog passing his ball to my sis..

Look at all the woofies and their happy owners.. sweet

Look!~ Paw prints!!~

Say hie to the camera Charlie..

Managed to cam-whore a lil before raindrops start falling on our heads.. and ruin my hair..

From my personal survey, I noticed there's alot of Asians staying here in Gold Coast, especially Japanese and Koreans come next. This place is majority bombarded with Japanese restaurants. There's certainly a Japanese restaurant in almost every corner. We had Japanese for our dinner yesterday, and we also had Japanese for dinner today. Sushi Train is something like our Sushi King, except the dishes here are fresher compared to ours, and is done by true Japanese, not Malays, nor Chinese. My sister pinpointed me how the ang mohs actually put mayonnaise on their sushi instead of wasabi and there's actually a LCD screen TV showing how to use chopsticks and what sauces to be use, specially dedicated to the ang mohs.
The Sushi Train Restaurant

Some of the dishes I managed to capture.. the rest is history inside my stomach...
Since it's Easter Holiday and tomorrow is also a public holiday, the streets of Surfers Paradise were flooded with teenagers all ready and set to colour the town red.. or black. Every well-known clubs were full with human caterpillar queue at just 8pluspm, and by almost midnight there were already some drunkies walking around the street doing what drunk people do; puking and making a fool out of themselves. Walking around the streets surrounded by tall people (those ang mohs damn tall weh), we squeezed our way through into a mall and to an arcade where my sis said they have this photo sticker machine that can send the pictures you took into your mobile via bluetooth! Sounded cool, but when we were already standing at the machine it read: Send the pictures to your mobile via INFRARED..!! INFRARED??!! who the heck still uses infrared now??!! Darn! But we still took it for memories sake. A picture always means a thousand words, and it's always worth keeping. I managed to bought a few kinky stuff for my dear at a kinky shop *wink*.. and then crossed the street to starbucked our night away. *yawn*
Surfers Paradise main entrance

A weird fruit snack we bought at the night market. It's called 'Flat fruits' and it's made of real fresh fruits. We bought 1 with a combination of Strawberry, Mango, Passionfruit, and Dragonfruit. Quite chewy, like a fruity gelatin chewy candy, very fruity-licious.

See how i can actually tarik the candy like teh tarik...

Some of our sticker pictures taken with our own camera. Which one do you think it's the nicest? I've numbered the pictures, paw me and tell me your fave:
